  • J.B. Holmes : Holmes makes the cut at... Feb 4, 11:52AM

J.B. Holmes reached the midpoint of the Waste Management Phoenix Open in 2-under-par 71-70=141, surviving the cut by two strokes. And that includes a bogey and a double in his last four holes of the second round. This is a thoroughly compelling story developing given that he had a pair of surgeries on his brain in the last five months of 2011. While it includes just four tee balls, Holmes ranked T15 in driving distance through two rounds at 312.0 yards. At this point, the focus will be on his stamina and ability to avoid the big number, but it's already a coup that he's secured a paycheck in just his second event in his return to competition.

  • Chad Collins : C. Collins misses WMPO... Feb 4, 11:34AM

Chad Collins completed 36 holes of the Waste Management Phoenix Open in 1-over-par 72-71=143, missing the cut on the number. That he made it that close is mildly impressive since he started his opening round double bogey-triple bogey. He's now 0-for-3 on the year and has six starts remaining on his Major Medical Extension to earn $484,656 and retain status.

  • Harrison Frazar : Frazar's late bogeys... Feb 4, 11:05AM

Harrison Frazar returned to TPC Scottsdale this morning to complete his second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, only to bogey his 35th and 36th holes en route to a 4-under-par 31-36=67. The second round resumed at 7:45 a.m. local time, 15 minutes later than scheduled, but it that did not alter plans to start the third round at 9:50 a.m. Frazar stands alone in second place at 9-under 133. At his final two holes, he missed respective par putts measuring 4'3" and 3'8". At the time he signed his card, he led the field in fairways hit (22 of 28) and ranked second in putting (1.520).

  • Stewart Cink : Despite turnaround,... Feb 3, 9:20PM

Stewart Cink withdrew 15 holes into his second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. After opening with a 12-over-par 83 that was too bad for words, he recovered extremely well today with three birdies and just one bogey. However, at an aggregate 10-over with only three holes remaining before the 36-hole cut, he wasn't going to make the cut.

  • Sean O'Hair : Second round suspended... Feb 3, 9:16PM

The second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open was suspended for darkness at 6:07 p.m. local time. You can blame it on a pair of one-hour delays due to frost each of the last two mornings. Tonight's suspension stranded 34 golfers on TPC Scottsdale although four have since withdrawn. Of the remaining 30, Sean O'Hair currently sits at 1-over-par through 34 holes. He's one stroke outside the cut line and laying 1 in front of the green at the drivable par-4 17th hole. Assuming the conditions allow for it, he will resume his round at 7:30 a.m. local time on Saturday. It's the sixth consecutive year that the 36-hole cut has been pushed into the weekend. Once it falls, the third round will consist of threesomes off split tees.

  • Chris Kirk : Kirk WDs with one hole... Feb 3, 9:10PM

Chris Kirk withdrew 17 holes into his second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. He was 3-over-par through 35 holes and wasn't going to make the cut. As golf fans have witnessed for a long time, it's not unusual for a handful of guys to decline returning in the morning to complete a suspended round with no chance for a payday.

  • Vijay Singh : V. Singh will not... Feb 3, 9:07PM

Vijay Singh withdrew with one hole remaining in his second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The Big Fijian was 4-over-par through 35 holes and wasn't going to make the cut anyway. He'll try again at next week's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am where he's listed in the published field.
