Sep 7, 9:35AM
Casey Wiegmann has been chosen as the Chiefs' starting center over incumbent Rudy Niswanger. The 37-year-old returned to the Chiefs this offseason after spending two years in Denver. Niswanger has trouble with bigger nose tackles and too often struggles with bad snaps, so it's not a surprise that the Chiefs decided to go with the veteran.

Sep 7, 9:30AM
Derrick Johnson has beaten out Demorrio Williams for one of the starting inside linebacker spots for the Chiefs. The other inside linebacker starting spot also appears to have been decided, as Jovan Belcher has been picked over Corey Mays. Johnson has been a big disappointment in Kansas City but still has a lot of ability. Williams is likely to replace Johnson on passing downs.

Sep 7, 9:23AM
Dolphins RG Richie Incognito told 790AM in Miami that teammate Jake Long (knee) is "going to be ready to go," for the season opener. "He's a tough guy," Incognito added. Take this for whatever it's worth, which isn't much. Ultimately we would be surprised if Long doesn't play, but he's certainly not out of the woods yet, as he was held out of Monday's practice and spotted with a noticeable limp.

Sep 7, 9:18AM
The Redskins and Titans have revisited trade discussions for DL Albert Haynesworth, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Mortensen says there is no deal yet, as the Titans feel the Redskins' asking price of at least two draft picks is still too high. At this point it would be best for all parties involved for Haynesworth to be shipped out of DC, but it remains to be seen if a deal will get done. Perhaps Haynesworth could resurrect his game in his old stomping grounds.

Sep 7, 9:11AM
Colts coach Jim Caldwell said that LT Charlie Johnson "has a shot" to suit up for Week 1. Caldwell also said that Jeff Saturday has "a real good shot at it," so Johnson is behind him. Tony Ugoh is also questionable for the game, so if neither player is ready, undrafted rookie Jeff Linkenbach would start at left tackle.

Sep 7, 9:01AM
Anthony Gonzalez suggested Monday that he hasn't been given a fair shot to earn his starting job back. Gonzalez was passed over last season by Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie while he dealt with a knee injury. He admits that he has "no idea" what his role in the offense will be. It's looking like No. 4 receiver and punt returner, which obviously severely limits his fantasy prospects.

Reggie Torbor LB - BUF:
Torber practices Monday
Sep 7, 8:50AM
Bills OLB Reggie Torbor (undisclosed injury) practiced in limited fashion Monday. "He didn't make it through the whole thing, but he got out there and did some stuff," said coach Chan Gailey. "... We'll see how he feels later in the week." Torbor will start at outside linebacker Sunday if he's deemed physically ready.
